GO - Meal and Fitness Tracker App Reviews

Not That Useful

Too arbitrary. It is hard to know how to categorize your food. I think LoseIt or MyFitnessPal are more helpful and give you nutrient breakdowns and food group monitoring, plus a concrete way to measure your food intake. I like the LoLo exercise apps, but feel like this one was a waste of money.

Very sad

The worst lolo burn inc app ever. I am very supportive, and I have 98% of you apps. I dont understand it, has no information I find usable, I am very disappointed , expected something much much better out of you.... Only other word I can use is ashamed of you.

Really like this concept

There are plenty of calorie-counting apps out there. This is not one of them. This is an overall healthy eating and exercising app. This app is based on the premise that we really all have an idea of what we should be eating, and we are smart enough to look at a meal and evaluate whether its healthy or unhealthy. For those who are total newbies to nutrition, there is a guide that tells you whether a meal is (from healthiest to unhealthiest) green, yellow, orange, or red, and whether it is a small snack or a large meal. I dont care for calorie counters because its completely tedious to log every single tablespoon of oil and I dont believe calories in-calories out is the full story of any diet. (There has been a lot written about this - look up Gary Taubes if you are interested.) GO is a new, visual concept. You judge your meal using guidelines and (optional) take a snapshot. Do the same for a workout, without photo. As time goes on, youll be able to look back on your history and see overall whether your habits have been healthy or unhealthy. Its motivating to want to get more green dots than orange and red dots. I have a few wishes for the app: perhaps a weight counter so you can see your weight in the timeline to see how your general habits affect your weight over the long haul. Maybe also some way to track a couple of optional habits, such as water intake, and have those show up on the chart. It would be cool to see little glasses of water show up on the timeline. They also mail really good diet tips, and it would be great to see these pushed through the app. :) Anyway, there is a slight learning curve, but I like this app and I appreciate having something for those of us who are tired of and disillusioned with calorie counting!

Im giving up on this, sorry

When I originally purchased this app, I pointed out that there was a bug if your life requires you to sleep during the day because you cannot set your active time to something such as 2:00pm to 6:00am. The app automatically changes it to 2:00pm to 6:00pm. They acknowledged the problem and said it would be fixed. A couple months later I checked in again because it hadnt been fixed and they told me that they are a small team and I cant expect them to be able to update their apps that quickly. Ok, irritating but Ill wait for an update. Well two updates later and this simple bug isnt fixed. It doesnt appear that this company is willing to support their products. Without being able to view your timeline, this app is all but worthless.

I like it but...

It should be easier to select the quality and size of a meal. Once I have to size set and try and change the color quality my size isnt fixed. Is there a trick to the slider? It makes it very obvious that Im tracking before meals when I need a minute or two to fiddle with the slide. There should either be to slides or you should slide size first and then quality. I understand the appeal of simple design but this isnt functional. Its the only thing I dont like about the app and its crucial.

Simple and Easy!

A fun and unique way to track your meals. I’ve actually been sticking with this when I usually drop off (too much work).

New Update PLEASE!!!!

This app would be perfect if other people were to rate how good or bad your food is in a scale of one to ten. It is better than the person rating their own food because it would not be sugar coated. I am hoping the programmer will consider this...

Its okay, but could use improvement

I really do like this app compared to a calorie tracker. They both have its pros and cons; however, Im left wondering which color to use for certain meals. Its left up to the users to decide and I feel there should be more examples of which food fits in which color category. I am also interested in seeing how much water I drink throughout the day and how hydrate I am for the week and month. Maybe there could be a separate bubble for water. Its not just about the food you put in, but how much water.

Good!

I think this app is great. Ive been looking for a way to track my food without counting calories. I already know what not to eat and how much I should or shouldnt eat, its more about remembering what all I have eaten in a day and seeing trends. I would give it 5 stars except there doesnt seem to be a way to edit my entry or add it in at a later time. (I accidentally deleted an entry trying to edit it and I cant add it back in.) Also, the photos cant be added from the camera roll. Other than that its great. Thanks.

No obsessions anymore

This is very good for tracking how Im doing and giving me better time spent on moving forward instead of obsessing what I should have done. Because I only see colors then I can quickly know if I am doing great and decide if my next meal should be green or if its ok if I splurge a little. I think its helped me to be less obsessive and be more relaxed yet keeping within my set boundaries. It works!

Good idea, rubbish in executing it

Was really excited to get this as Im a visually focused person, but found myself frustrated and disappointed. It allows for photos, but doesnt allow for you to use photos from your library. As a new user, I dont automatically think of opening GO right away to take a picture of a meal -- Ill just take a picture of it. But GO doesnt offer the ability to add pictures into the app/timeline... You must take it as a live feed, straight to the app. This would maybe be fair enough, if you could at least have a green generic circle WITH A DESCRIPTION WHEN YOU CLICK. The "edit" meal button allows you to delete a meal, but at no point came you name/describe even keyword it. This is also VERY unhelpful if you have a small snack/meal, because the size of the circle correlates to size of meal, so if you take a picture of a small snack you have an image the size of the tip of your index finger to look at, and since you cant name anything, a week later youll be squinting trying to figure out what you ate because its such a low quality picture (that doesnt zoom) you wont be able to tell. Was really excited about potential of this app but wow, such a waste. Seriously, use something like Instagram instead. Youll get your visual needs, can use existing photos, have decent sized photos, and can label/describe everything. UPDATE: July 2015 - I redownloaded this over a year later to see if it had improved. It hadnt. Waste of money, space and time.
